20 Reasons Why Having Young Parents Can Add Meaning To Your Life

No comments :

mother-437970_1280
For most people, becoming a parent is a life-changing experience. No matter who you are and how old you are, it’s a significant time when you learn the power of unconditional love, selflessness, laughter and how to make time for those who matter.
I know this because I’m 26 and I have three young children. I wouldn’t be who I am today without the experiences I’ve had as a parent. In fact, my husband and I believe that becoming parents at an early stage of our lives has always benefited us, and our kids, in so many ways.
Here are the 20 reasons why having young parents can add meaning to your life.

1. They take you on their own learning journey

I was 18 years old when I had my first child. Although my husband and I were already talking about babies, we were not emotionally and mentally ready to have children yet. We were still in the process of learning who we were and what was important to us. But becoming parents has helped us to grow as people. It has given us more confidence, taught us to care less what other people think, to appreciate the important things in life.
Young parents may not always have the financial stability that older parents have, or the life experience, but we are always learning. We are always giving it our everything. We are always showing our children that no matter what age or stage you are at in life, you always have the potential to learn something new.

2. They make mistakes

Over the past 8 years, my husband and I have become much more patient and understanding parents. We weren’t always like that. At the beginning, we struggled to put on the first diaper, our children’s diets weren’t as healthy as they could be, and we were so focused on routines that we didn’t just enjoy being a parent.
Having children young means that we may not always know what the right thing to do is. But that’s okay.
I’ve always admitted my mistakes, and I’ve always taught my kids that it’s okay to get things wrong. My kids are learning that it’s okay not to be perfect.

3. They always strive to become better

I used to be someone who was too shy to ask questions. Someone who never put their hand up in class. I had a really low self-esteem and lacked confidence. Becoming a parent changed all that for me. I learnt that it takes a lot of courage to speak up. That there’s no shame in asking for help.
Young parents know that others think they’re not ‘up to the job’. They know that people doubt their capabilities. But they absolutely love their children and they are determined to do what’s best for them.

4. They show you that life is filled with ups and downs

Our family has gone through many different challenges. We’ve moved house several times, we’ve overcome family difficulties, we’ve encountered other personal problems. But we have survived.
Young parents know that difficult times can come and go, but sticking by each other is what’s important.

5. They have an optimistic view of life

As a 26 year old, I am very hopeful about my future. I believe that I still have my whole life ahead of me. I have many more dreams, goals and achievements to strive for. I have places to see, people to meet, lessons to learn.
When raising my three young girls, this approach helps to encourage them to believe that anything is possible. That life is full of so many opportunities. That your life can be whatever you want it to be.

6. They remind you to laugh

My husband and I often do a lot of laughing around our kids. We believe that life can be so stressful and that this is why it’s important to see the lighter side of it. Laughter really is the best medicine.
Having young parents means that you can often bounce back easier. That you can find the humour in every situation.

7. They like being silly and playful with you

Our girls love to hang off their Daddy’s legs like monkeys. They also like to tickle him and chase him around the house. I love sipping on tea with my girls and pretending we’re all having a picnic. Young parents often love to chase their kids around, to crawl around with them in an indoor play ground, to sing along with them in the car. We know that we can be silly at times, but it’s always worth it when our reward is our child’s laughter.

8. They share their hobbies and interests with you

My husband and I first met in a car club. He still loves to tinker with cars and my interest still exists as well. Our girls have a passion for cars too. Sharing our hobbies and interests with our kids shows them that as well as being parents, we’re individuals with our own likes and dislikes.
Young parents want their kids to know that they didn’t ‘mess up’ their life. In fact, they’ve completed their life.

9. They can relate to how you’re feeling

I still have very vivid memories of my childhood. Memories of the activities I did, who I spent time with, and the times when I got upset.
Although young parents are often seen to have less emotional maturity, they can still imagine how their child would be feeling. They can think back to their own childhood and use that as a starting point. For many young parents, it really doesn’t feel too long ago a time.

10. They show you that it’s okay to cry

My children have seen me cry, and I know there’s no shame in that. I want my kids to know that we all feel down sometimes and it’s much better to let it out. That strength comes from acknowledging how you feel, as opposed to bottling it up inside.
Young parents might be going through a lot of hardship, and struggling to keep their emotions intact. But by crying it out, they’re showing their kids that they’re only human.

11. They don’t let others’ negative opinions rule their life

As a young mother, I’ve been confronted with a lot of criticism and judgement. I’ve had strangers make snide comments. I’ve had my parenting ability questioned because I’m “too young to understand what’s best for your child.”
But I’ve had to have confidence in my abilities. I’ve had to remember everything I’ve done for my kids. All the trouble my first child had breastfeeding and the fact that I persevered. The hundreds of specialist appointments I’ve attended for my girls. All the time I’ve spent rushing back and forth for my kids, determined to do what’s right by them.
Young parents may be given so much unsolicited advice, but they remain strong and do what’s best for their family. They teach their kids that you have to do what’s right for you, not somebody else. That your own happiness is what’s most important.

12. They want you to be less judgemental of others

Being met with all this negativity hasn’t turned me into a bitter person. It’s helped me to raise my children to be kind, to respect others, and not to judge.
Young parents are often judged, so the last thing they want is to do that to someone else.

13. They learn forgiveness through you

I’ve never had the best relationship with my mom. We’ve always clashed due to our personality differences.
But after becoming a mother at 18, I realized all the sacrifices that my mom made to raise my siblings and me. It gave me the strength to forgive her for all the painful things that happened in the past.
Young parents may have had a difficult relationship with their own parents, but they want their kids to know their grandparents. They want their kids to understand their own identity and to have a greater sense of family.

14. They want you to never give up on your dreams

When I became a mother for the first time, I put my college studies on hold. I chose to stay at home and be there for my daughter. But I never gave up on my dreams. I never gave up my ambitious nature. I never gave on my passion for helping others through psychology and personal development. I now study and work from home.
Young parents do put many of their dreams on hold. They’ve made sacrifices along the way. But they’ve also proven that if they dream hard enough, their dreams can still come true. They want you to know that you shouldn’t give up either.

15. They teach you the importance of self-love

For the first 5 years of parenting, I hardly ever did anything for myself. I was so determined to give the kids my full attention, I dismissed my own needs. But now, I’ll buy things for myself. I take a bit more pride in my appearance. I don’t always say ‘yes’ to please everyone.
Young parents may be stereotyped to be more ‘selfish’, but we just don’t want to completely forget what matters to us. We know that a child deserves a mother who is happy with who they are.

16. They share practical advice with you

When my husband and I had our first child, we’d only moved out recently. We weren’t cooking healthy dinners, we were struggling to keep on top of the housework, and had financial difficulties. But as our circumstances improved, so did our skills.
Young parents are still learning to juggle the responsibilities of being an adult, as well as a parent. But as they’re learning, they’re able to share it with their kids along the way too.

17. They believe in second chances

I have been a stay at home mother. I have worked from home. I have studied from home. My life never stopped because I had children. It simply changed.
Young parents know that sometimes life doesn’t turn out the way that you expected it to, but not to feel discouraged. They want their children to know that you can always get right back up again.

18. They teach you the meaning of unconditional love

All parents make sacrifices. They put their careers on hold. They stop going out as often and don’t remember the last time they had a good night’s sleep.
Young parents may have to sacrifice just a bit more, but they’re not wishing things were different. Those sacrifices have just deepened their love for you.

19. They teach you to cherish the moment

My husband and I want our kids to value working hard, but we also want them to enjoy life too. We want them to spend hours at a playground just because it’s fun. We want them to dress up in costumes and pretend to be whatever it is that they want to be. We want them to experience life, try new things, step outside their comfort zone.
Being a young mother, I want to make these ‘extra years’ count.

20. They’re proud that their lives are more meaningful now

Throughout the past 8 years, my husband and I have been met with a lot of confusion and surprise. “Why would you want children so early?” people would ask. But for both of us, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Here’s a quote that sums up perfectly how I feel:
“Being a young mom means that we met a little early, but it also means I get to love you a little longer. Some people said that my life ended when I had a baby but my life had just begun. You didn’t take away from my future, you gave me a new one.” – titaa
I am sure that many other young parents can relate to the love that I feel for my kids.
And how much more meaningful they have made my life.

How to Be S*xy for Your Boyfriend: Awake the Passion

No comments :
Once we get comfortable in a relationship, the s*x tends to die down a bit, and let’s be honest ladies, we stop trying as hard to please our man. Sure, we want him to find us attractive, but it just seems like a lot of work to go through all the trouble we used to since he’s already ours, doesn’t it?

Whether you realize it or not, you still need to know how to be s*xy for your boyfriend once in a while. Of course he loves you for who you are, and he thinks you’re beautiful even when your hair is in rollers and you’re wearing that beautifying gunk on your face…but it isn’t really enough.
Your man does a lot for you, so why not show him that you still think he’s s*xy by being the s*xy woman you used to be?

1. Fix your hair

Beauty luxury woman with and mirror
We all do it. We get comfortable in a relationship and the first thing to go is our hairstyle. Do you remember when you used to spend hours getting your hair just right for your guy? When did that stop? I imagine that ended somewhere around the time you became comfortable with each other.
Surprise your guy by refreshing your hair! Get a new haircut, or put some highlights in it. If nothing else, at least try to fix it up like you used to. Believe me, he’ll notice.

2. Wear lipstick

Did you know that, on a subconscious level, lipstick makes men think of having s*x? That’s right, and it makes sense really. That is also the reason women wear lipstick…in order to make men think of having s*x with them. Put on some flattering red lipstick or a little bit of shiny gloss and lick your lips when he looks at you. It’s hard not to be s*xy when you’re wearing lipstick.

3. Put on some mascara

In the world of make-up, another quick s*xy fixer upper is mascara! Any time you’re feeling less than your best self, the combination of lipstick and mascara will enhance your most ogled features and you will instantly feel more attractive. Also, you’ll look s*xier with your eyes and your lips highlighted.

4. Wear low cut tops

Most men are drawn to breasts. Come on ladies, who can blame them? Look at your own, aren’t they awesome?! They’re soft and round and fun to play with…of course he likes them! It’s always a great idea to use your breasts to their s*xiest advantage.
Wear a very supporting bra and a low cut top so your boyfriend gets a good glimpse of your cleavage. In fact, every time you get the chance, stand close to him and lean in a bit so he gets a very good view of your attractive assets.

5. Put on your best jeans or skirt

Source
Some men prefer jeans, others prefer skirts. Either way, the point of this is to wear whatever he thinks is s*xiest on you. Does he have a favorite dress he likes to see you in? Does he prefer your tight skinny jeans or your ripped concert jeans? That low cut top with his favorite bottom is a combination designed to make his jaw drop!

6. Flirt with your man

What’s the point of looking this good if you’re not going to show your guy how s*xy you really are? I bet it’s been a long time since you’ve flirted with your man, so why not take the opportunity now? Gently touch his arm while you talk to him, laugh sweetly at his jokes, and run your fingers at the nape of his neck. There’s no way he’ll miss these s*xy displays.

7. Smile seductively

Even if you and your man are standing across the room from each other, you can still flirt. Smile at everyone in the room, laugh and be polite, but when you and your boyfriend make eye contact, throw him a s*xy and seductive smile that’s meant only for him. I guarantee he won’t notice anything else in the room (and he’ll try to find an excuse to get you home alone as quickly as possible!).

8. Communicate with your eyes

Don’t forget to use your eyes! Your eyes are the windows to your soul, and your guy will be able to tell when you have a lustful look in your eyes. Give him that “come here” stare, or as you’re smiling seductively at him from across the room, toss him a s*xy wink as well! Let your eyes do all the talking for you.

9. Buy a new nightie

candice swanepoel underwear
Men are visual creatures and sometimes looking s*xy for your man means looking s*xy for yourself as well. Don’t go to bed in your sweatpants and an old t-shirt tonight, go out and buy yourself a flattering nightie instead. You can wear a night gown or a leather camisole, whatever you feel is s*xy is what you should put on for him. If you can’t find a nightie you like, wear a long dress slip (they double as a s*xy gown).

10. Have self-confidence

Finally, the best way to be s*xy for your boyfriend is to have self-confidence. Nothing you do physically will make you s*xy unless you honestly believe that you are! Trust me, you are s*xy! If you weren’t s*xy and if you weren’t everything your boyfriend desires, then he wouldn’t be with you.
Be confident in your ability to seduce your guy and all of your visual efforts will pay off. Believe in yourself. S*xiness isn’t about a great figure or perfect legs, s*xiness is about confidence and knowing your own worth.
Now tell us, what are the things you do in order to be s*xy for your boyfriend?

How to Tell If a Guy Is Flirting With You: The 12 Signs to Look For

No comments :
Flirting can be so… confusing. For example, the other day I met this really good looking guy who seemed to be genuinely interested in everything I had to say and even asked questions to encourage the conversation. I was ecstatic! The only thing was, he wasn’t giving off any body signals to go along with his curiosity.
Later, I found out he was gay, which explained the manners and polite conversation without the physical flirting.
The point here is that it can get pretty confusing trying to tell if a man is trying to flirt or just being nice. After all, have you ever said something nice to a guy just to be nice and suddenly he’s hitting on you because he thinks you’re interested? It’s a pretty awkward situation.
Before you give up and throw in the towel, though, consider these 12 signs of flirting. If the guy in front of you is doing any of these twelve things (particularly in combination), then he’s probably flirting with you. So, with no further ado, here’s how to tell if a guy is flirting with you:

#1 He Looks You in the Eye

Two beautiful young women flirting with two men in the bar
Some men naturally have good manners, and looking a person in the eyes when you’re speaking to them is one of those things that constitutes as good manners. But if this is combined with some of the other body movements listed below, you could be being flirted with.
One important thing to look for when a man is looking into your eyes is whether or not he’s smiling or his eyes are twinkling. Yes, you know what I’m talking about. When a man is flirting with you, you can see it in his eyes. It’s almost like he only has eyes for you, and nobody else in the room matters.

#2 He Finds an Excuse to Talk to You

Any man who’s flirting with you will find an excuse to talk with you. Most often he’ll think of something you chatted about last time you saw him and carry on with the conversation. If this is your first time meeting, he’ll ask about your necklace, your hair color, tell you that you have beautiful eyes…etc.
Or, if he’s just a bit too shy for all the compliments, he’ll simply find some other reason to keep the conversation going.

#3 He Perks Up When He Sees You

A man who is interested in you and is flirting with you will perk up when he sees you. He will hold his head higher, he’ll smile brighter, and he’ll seem ten times more cheerful than he had been the moment before he noticed you walk in the room.
Trust me, if he’s interested in you, he’ll be happy to see you!

#4 He Stays Close to You

Men are territorial. Seriously, it’s an alpha thing. Have you ever seen how possessive a man can get towards you when another guy looks at you? Have you ever wondered why guys move in closer when they’re competing for your attention?
I’m going to tell you a story. As a barista, I’ve seen many different types of men, and I can always tell the ones who are interested in me versus the ones who aren’t. I used to have these two guys come in; they were friends and had known each other a while. Now mind you, neither of them were interested in me…no, neither of them! However, they were at that eighteen to twenty year old stage, which in a male’s life means they’re full of testosterone and have no flipping idea what to do with it.
The scene would go something like this. One of them would come in first, buy a drink and make a little small talk (kind of like I’m a bartender). The other would come in a little later to meet him and buy a drink and make some small talk, too.
Here’s where it gets fun!
So, the second guy would tell me about something new in his life (a new camera or a new skateboard or something he put on youtube…something) and I would appropriately “Oooh!” and “Ahhh!” over it.
The first guy would here the conversation and come back up to the counter beside him and point out something new HE had, too! I would also do the appropriate “Oooh!” and “Ahhh!” Not to be one-upped, the second guy would turn to me, step in closer, and tell me about yet another new thing he had. In which case the first guy would step in closer and relay something of HIS that was new.
This alpha battle continued as long as I kept giving their egos the fuel by being interested in whatever they were telling me about. When I claimed I had to get back to work, they’d scoot off to their table and talk about an entirely different subject.
The point is, as each of them were trying to maintain my attention, they moved in close to me (like “marking their territory”).
When a man is flirting with you, you’ll notice that he moves in close to you. You’ll see that double if a good looking guy walks by or also comes up to talk to you. It’s a territory thing.

#5 He Touches You

A young couple touching hands at a table
Its human nature that we want to touch something pretty we like. I myself enjoy the feel of suede, stone walls, and a hairy chest. Of course, if I’m flirting with a guy I don’t go up and start rubbing on his chest hair (that’s just creepy), but I will lightly touch his arm as I laugh, or squeeze his bicep gently as I say goodbye.
Men do this, too. They might not squeeze your bicep, but they will touch your shoulder if they’re standing beside you. If a man is flirting with you, he’ll find a subtle way to make contact with you. Your reaction will tell him if it’s okay to keep flirting.

#6 He Stumbles Over Himself for You

Sometimes, men aren’t so clever and graceful when they flirt. It’s like Superman versus Clark Kent. Not all men are a suave and seductive as Superman, which is really okay. I myself have always preferred Clark.
When a Clark Kent tries to flirt with you, he will stumble over his words, spill his drink, say something ridiculous, blush, and be scared of you the next time he sees you. It’s the most adorable thing on the planet!
So if your guy isn’t exactly Mr. Good With Words, but is instead making a complete klutz out of himself whenever he sees you, then you’re definitely being flirted with.

#7 He Lets His Friends Go On without Him

One of the most important signs a guy is flirting with you is that he lets his friends go on without him. Bro Code specifies (in terms not appropriate for feminine delicacies) that the guys always come first. This means, if you and he are talking, and his friends come up, you can expect him to end your conversation to go hang out with them.
Unless he’s flirting, of course.
If your guy continues to chat with you and tells his friends, “I’ll catch up with you later” (or some equivalent thereof), then you’re definitely being flirted with.

#8 He Asks About You

One thing I learned from my last booty call was that he was ever so charming when he hadn’t had s*x in a while. He would text me to ask if I was okay, he’d ask me how my day was, how work was…etc. All the things a good guy SHOULD ask.
The same theory applies to men who are flirting with you. If a guy is genuinely interested in you (either mentally or physically), he will be interested in listening to you. Usually because he knows he has your attention if you’re talking about you. It’s true, ladies, don’t deny it. I love to tell a guy how my day was; it makes me so happy he was thoughtful enough to ask (even for a booty call).
A guy who is flirting with you doesn’t just politely ask, “How was your day?”, he asks you to elaborate on the answer. He’ll pry details out of you so he can show you he’s interested. It’s a good trick, and it works.

#9 He Chats

Young couple talking and drinking coffee
Of course, it’s not enough to just ask about your day; a guy who’s interested will also continue the conversation. There are a couple of reasons for this. First, he knows if he keeps the conversation going that he has a little bit of extra time with you, and second, the more you talk the more information he gets. That means he has something to ask you about the next time he sees you.
Men who are flirting become chatty with you, they listen to your words, they ask you questions, sometimes they even give you some information about themselves, too! Usually it’s something that makes him sound like a good catch.

#10 He Leans in Close When He Speaks

Remember what I said about the two guys who were always competing for my attention, how they would inch in closer to me as they had their testosterone battle? Well, even without the battle, if a guy’s flirting with you he will lean in towards you as he talks.
You see, it all goes back to the alpha male marking his territory. He subconsciously wants to get in close to you so that you know he’s there. In other words, he wants to make sure you notice him just as much as he wants to be as close to you as possible so no other guy can move in.

#11 He Finds a Way to See You Again

Never forget that when a guy is flirting with you he will find another way to see you again. If he’s flirting with you at work, he’ll stop at your job every chance he gets so he can see you. If it’s at the gym, he’ll ask you casually what your usual workout days are so he can occasionally see you “by chance”.
Wherever it is, or however clever he has to be about it, if a man is interested in you he’ll find a way to see you again and he’ll continue to flirt with you as he does.

#12 He Texts Right Away

You know that “three day” rule about calling or texting? Well, occasionally men will follow that rule because they think it’s one of those rule’s you should never break. However, I’ve known plenty of guys to break that rule for someone they’re really interested in.
One of the most guaranteed signs a guy is flirting with you is that he will text you practically immediately if you give him your number. He won’t make it through the night without texting to say hi to you. Also, he wants to make sure that you have his number just in case you want to text and flirt with him, too! Of course, you aren’t going to (you want to play a little hard to get), but it’s always flattering when they text you right away, isn’t it? He’s definitely interested if he texts you right away.
So there you have, twelve guaranteed signs a guy is flirting with you. While I know there are other signs, these are the ones you can certainly be sure about. Usually, these little flirts come in combinations of two or three….eye contact and moving in close to you are the biggest indicators. Combinations are also always the best way to know if you should flirt back. So tell us, is there a special guy giving you any of these signs?

How to Flirt With a Guy Over Text: Top 7 Texting Rules Worth Following

No comments :
Like everything, flirting has moved with the times and technology has taken over. Long gone are the days of traditional courting and the batting of eyelids to vie for a man’s attention. Sometimes it’s really difficult to know how to behave and what to say when it comes to flirting. The question “Am I doing it right?” will often run though your mind.
More often than not, it’s easier to hide and flirt behind the screen of a computer or phone. This is totally cool and it’s considered the norm these days. But flirting via text messages can be a little tricky at times. There are some definite dos and don’ts when flirting over text with a guy you’re interested in. For some, it comes naturally, but for others it may be a little bit more difficult. It’s completely different from flirting face-to-face.
Perhaps the worst thing about texting is once a message is sent, it’s sent – there’s no taking it back. We live in a world obsessed with technology, so if you’re considering being all cutesy via text messages, it’s essential that you familiarize yourself with these 7 golden rules. Here’s how to flirt with a guy over text:

#1 Be Yourself

This is the most important rule to live by when flirting over text. When a person is hiding behind technology, they often feel compelled to exaggerate. They’ll often try and put up a façade just for the sake of impressing others. This gives guys the wrong impression and when you do eventually come face-to-face, they’ll understand the lie(s). Don’t try and be someone you’re not just to get him to like you more.

#2 Don’t Overkill

young black guy reads text message on his phone
Facebook, social media, and texting have made us super lazy when it comes to the English language. We tend to use abbreviations and emoticons with almost every message. These have become so engrained in us that we forget when and where we should use them.
When you begin your flirting marathon via text, you need to keep it short and sweet. In this case, less is more. If you opt to add a number of smiley faces and hearts, your guy might be weirded out. Girls tend to use these more than guys who generally just find these things silly. So don’t have him doubting your intelligence with all these extra added symbols and what not; just keep it fun and light-hearted.

#3 Forget the Sarcasm

This is a general rule that you should follow when doing any form of texting. It is especially necessary when flirting. There’s a huge difference between face-to-face sarcasm and phone sarcasm. When a person uses sarcasm in a text message, there aren’t any facial expressions, gestures, or vocal clues to back it up. It’s really difficult to decipher whether a person is joking, being sarcastic, or just being a jerk sometimes. But never fear ladies, all this embarrassment and awkwardness can be avoided – just save your sarcastic jokes or comments until you’re face-to-face with him and he gets to understand your humor a little better.

#4 Stop Over-Analyzing Everything

Another thing we women tend to do is to read way too much into different things. We’re known for reading texts and emails over and over again trying to figure out the “hidden meanings.” Usually, guys are more straight up than women and don’t use innuendoes as such. So, stop wasting your precious hours thinking about what he means when he texted you “I’ll catch you later.” All you will end up doing is driving yourself nuts. Chill out a little bit more and enjoy the fun in it.

#5 S*xy Pics

Never, ever, and I mean NEVER, do this! I’m going to put this to you straight because it will just come back and bite you in the butt in the future. Never send anyone, even a guy you’ve been flirting with, any photograph that could compromise you. You may think that you’re being cute and flirtatious. You may even think you’re getting his attention, but you’ll live to regret it.
Firstly, you can never trust anyone to keep these “private” pictures to themselves; you also can’t control what happens to those photos in the end and where they’ll end up being posted. There are many horror stories of women having their pictures posted by guys they like or exes on the internet. So, keep your dignity and privacy. Anyway if things do really end up heating up, he’s going to see the real thing really soon!

#6 Watch Your Grammar

Make sure you proofread your text messages. There’s nothing sweet about a woman who mistakes “to” for “too” or “you’re” for “your”. This is of course not going to end any communication and it’s not a deal breaker per se. But using correct English and grammar or whatever other language you’re flirting in can’t hurt.

#7 Text by Mistake

Young Woman At Outdoor Music Festival Using Mobile Phone
Whoops! Sometimes our touch phones are super sensitive and we hit “send” to the wrong person. This is embarrassing enough as it is, but when it’s to a guy we like, it’s even worse. You’ll often come across as careless and it’s even worse if you’re sending a text about him intended for someone else. It just makes for an uncomfortable situation and you’ll just end up looking silly.
Of course it’s all about common sense. But sometimes when we really like a guy our brains don’t function as they should. Just follow the simple dos and don’ts when texting and flirting with a guy and nothing will go wrong.
What do you think? Do you have any other rules to add to the list when flirting with a guy via text?

Top 10 Secret Spots to Meet Single Guys

No comments :
It seems like single men are a rare breed in this day and age. No matter how hard we try to find love, there’s just no one to be found. If you feel as if you’re the only single woman left in the world, don’t worry; you’re not alone. But the real question is: Where are all the single guys?
I was once told that most people meet in random everyday places like the grocery store or the doctor’s office mostly because single guys are just like us and they have to go to the doctor, too. They also have to eat.
But, for those of us not brave enough to wander down the grocery isles looking for Mr. Right, there are still places other than clubs and bars where you are likely to meet single men.

#1 Hockey Games

If you’ve ever sat in the nosebleed section of a hockey game then you already know that this is where the hecklers go to taunt the opposing team (and sometimes our own). Those hecklers are usually a group of single guys who have nothing else to do on a Saturday night.
It’s not just hockey, either. Baseball, football, soccer and any other sport that requires burly men in helmets is bound to attract the opposite s*x.

#2 Camping

Young man kindling firewood in the countryside with girl and tent
If you want to meet a single guy, go to a campsite. Men love the outdoors, and single men are more than happy eating barely cooked fish they caught themselves over a campfire and then sleeping in a tent in the rain.
Of course, if you happen to be a damsel in distress who has no idea how to make a campfire or who happened to have lost her can opener for her beans and weenies, then you’ve got a perfect excuse for meeting that hot hunk of man-meat across the way.

#3 Sailing Lessons

Have I ever told you that I took sailing lessons? No? Well I was really, really bad at it. But, if you want a place to go where you can meet single, tan men (and have a sail boat flipped on you), then this is the place to go!
These guys are water loving, very easy going, and quick to help you tie a mast or find the right life jacket. Did I mention they’re good looking?

#4 Car Shows

Porsche 356 -1957 Classic Car
For those of you (like me) who like a man who gets his hands dirty, then you need to go to a car show. Car shows have men of all ages and all lifestyles; they have bikers, classic car enthusiasts, elite Lexus guys and so on. If there’s a cool car around, somewhere there’s a guy drooling over it.

#5 Coffee Houses

Believe it or not, many businessmen spend their days in coffee shops. Sometimes they meet clients there, but most of the time they bring their laptop and do some number crunching with a cup of coffee in order to get as far away from their cubicle as possible.
Of course, if you’re into the hip crowd (or those beautiful college boys who need you to corrupt them), then I highly recommend going to a coffee house at night. That’s when the cool crowd comes out, and that’s when the single guys are lounging around playing guitar and looking bored with life. Go spice their world up a bit.

#6 Motorcycle Lessons

If you like your guys a little more manly and less hipster then take motorcycle lessons. Seriously, you’re going to find single men more than happy to take you for a ride on the back of their bike. Plus, they look so good in leather!

#7 Jogging

Man and woman running on the beach
I always run into people jogging. Okay, let me clarify, I walk into people while they’re jogging, how’s that? Whether you yourself are a jogger, or you know that your hot neighbor is, you’re likely to meet single men hiking on a walking trail (which is actually a really good place to meet men, too) or jogging down the road. All you have to do is walk by and give them “the look.”

#8 Walking Along Campus

If you live in a college town, you have the best opportunity to meet men. Simply go hang out at some of the local campus restaurants, coffee, or hookah places at night and you’re bound to meet single guys. Some of them might be awkward professors, some of them might be college students, and some of them might just be looking for a good time. However, I can, in all honesty, say that I’ve never NOT been checked out while walking around the night life scene.

#9 Bookstores

While it’s not an easy place to meet single men, this is still one of the best places to meet guys, and especially if you’re into guys who read. I always like men who can formulate an individual thought, and I love a guy who is well read. Bookstores are perfect for finding this kind of guy.

#10 Cigar Shops

If you really want to meet a single guy, and you’re not too picky about smoking, then hit up the cigar shop. This is an urban man-cave where the dwellers sit around, play video games, cheat at poker, and smoke cigars (lots and lots of cigars). Is it a place for women? Not really. But is it a place where they appreciate women? Oh yeah.
It isn’t all that hard to meet men, but remember to check out his ring finger before giving him your flirty gaze…. Also, you might want to check his ID if you pick him up on campus. So tell us, where do you go to find single men?

The 7 Rules for Texting a Guy You Like

No comments :
Texting is a problem that no other time in history has ever had to deal with. Unlike letters of love, a text is both personal and impersonal; it’s instant and once it’s sent you can’t go chasing the messenger to try and get it back.
Because texting is a new social phenomenon in the dating world, there’s still so much confusion over the etiquette of texting a guy you like. It isn’t always as clear cut as it seems, and, of course, every man is different, but here are 7 guaranteed rules of texting that are universal no matter what kind of guy you have the hots for.

#1 Don’t Text First

If you and a guy exchange numbers, don’t be the one to text first. The only first text you should give is the one where you’re initially giving him your number and he’s giving you his in return. There’s a general “three day rule” that often applies to calling and this rule can be easily applied to texting as well (since it’s pretty rare that anyone ever calls anymore).

#2 Don’t Text Right Away

Beautiful Young Woman sending Message with Mobile Phone
Once you and your guy have broken the proverbial ice and begun texting each other (or, to put it more clearly, once he’s sent you that initial text), wait a few minutes before texting him back. I know, it seems silly, but you don’t want him to think you’ve been waiting by the phone this whole time just in case you hear from him.
It isn’t necessary to wait days, or even hours, before you reply; just give it a couple of minutes. Let him vaguely wonder what you’re doing today (besides obviously waiting by the phone).

#3 No Naked Pics

Unless you and your guy have been dating and sleeping together for a long time and you’re now trying to get out of a romantic slump, there’s no need to send him naked pics. In fact, sending a guy you like naked pics of yourself will not only give him the wrong impression of you (and believe me, it will give him the wrong impression), but it also leaves you extremely vulnerable. You have no idea what he’s going to do with those pics, who he’s going to show them to, or where they might end up.

#4 Be The First To Have To Go

When it comes to texting, it’s always a good idea to be the first to have to go. It’s great to keep a conversation going, of course, but at some point the conversation must end. Here’s how you handle it: “Wow, I’d love to talk to you more about this, but I’ve got to get to work. Do you want to have coffee later and keep the conversation going?”
You’ve just accomplished two things. For one thing, you ended the conversation first leaving him wanting more of you, and for another thing you opened it up for an actual date. Always a plus.

#5 Keep It Short And Sweet

Beautiful young business woman smiling with mobile phone in cafe
Now, before you become a master text conversationalist, the first initial texts must be kept short and sweet. He doesn’t need you to write him a book on your every daily thought, but a few tidbits of information are always good. Don’t overdo the texts.
Too much talking by text can have an adverse effect and he might think you’re chatty. Even if you are chatty (like me), you’re still going to want to leave a little bit of conversation for the nights when you two go out.

#6 If You’re Asking Him Out, Give At Least Three Days Advance

If it hasn’t gotten to the point where you can maneuver a date into the conversation, then wait until you two have been texting for at least a few days and then ask him out. Of course, when you do ask him out, give him a three day advance (the same he would need to give you) so that he can adjust his schedule if needed, or not be on short notice and too exhausted to go out with you.

#7 No S*xting Until After The First S*x

Aside from naked pics, there’s also the question of “s*xting.” Is it okay to have s*x by text? The answer is both yes and no. It is perfectly okay to flirt by text. You can give him little flirty compliments or tell him how good looking he is; you can even tease him just slightly by telling him about the hot new dress you bought this weekend.
What you can’t do is have s*x by text with him. No “I’m so wet” texts, nothing saying you’re touching yourself, nothing that would put you to shame should anyone read his phone.
If you’ve already had s*x with him and are warming him up in the hopes of having s*x again tonight, then you can s*xt him. Otherwise, you’re making it way too easy for him and he might not appreciate you for the person you are inside, only the person you could be in bed.
On a whole, the rules for texting a guy you like are similar to the rules for dating. Allow ample time for communication, but don’t display all your mysteries at once. Don’t s*xt on the first date (or before the first date), don’t give him nude photos, and be the first to have to go (most guys are scared to end texts first because they feel like they’re being rude to you).
What rules do you use when you’re texting a guy you like?

The 9 Tricks to Getting Guys You Like to Approach You

No comments :

Before I was married, I never met guys like they did in the movies nor did I meet them in what would be considered real-life scenarios either. Actually, if I were to be 100% honest I dated sporadically while my girlfriends were jumping from one guy to another. It wasn’t because they were more promiscuous than me and it wasn’t because I was more of a prude than them, it was just that I was painfully shy.
Back then, it was a different story though. I thought I wasn’t pretty enough, I believed I wasn’t slim enough, but in actual fact it was all down to the way guys perceived me – they thought I was unapproachable and it had nothing to do with how I looked.
I do consider myself to be a friendly person; however, I was never game enough to chat to guys. I always waited for them to come to me… I waited and waited and it wasn’t really until I met my now husband that I realized I was doing it all wrong, but then again I wouldn’t change it for the world because maybe then our paths would never have crossed.
So, the question on all your pretty lips is, how can you get a guy to approach you? Not only that though, how can you get him to be interested enough to keep speaking to you and even ask for your number?

#1 You Have a Beautiful Smile, Smile More

hispanic couple sitting at bar table near the sea and drinking cocktail
When it comes to a guy approaching a girl, he’s almost always going to approach the girl who’s smiling. Many men will be quick to admit that they’re a little bit wimpy when it comes to approaching women anywhere whether it is in the park, the bar or even at work. If you’re not smiling, it makes you appear standoffish and they won’t ever have the confidence to come up to you if they sense you’re not interested.
Men read a smile as a signal and 80% of the time if you smile at a guy it’s because you’re interested too. Of course, there is never a 100% certainty with regard to dating, but trust me: A smile can go a long way. If you take the initiative to show your pearly whites a little bit more, he’ll feel more relaxed about approaching you. Not only that, smiling makes you appear less uptight, kinder and more sincere – three qualities that men look for in a woman.

#2 Don’t Scare Them Off By Going En Masse!

If you’ve got it in your head that you’re on a man-hunting mission then you need to stick to just heading out with only one other female companion. If a guy spots a girl he’s attracted to amongst a gaggle of girls in a bar, he’s going to freak out; it’s very unlikely he will even approach you in the fear of being judged, ridiculed or being put through the third degree. The same goes for hanging out with guys!
Now, I’m not telling you to ditch your guy friends because I know they can be really fun, but if you’re looking to attract attention from other males, they will never approach you in fear of the guys you’re with thinking one is your boyfriend or over-zealous brother.

#3 The Law Of Attraction!

If you believe in the law of attraction then you’ll certainly already know that like people attract like people. For example, if you’re looking to attract those fun guys who live on the edge a little and are exciting to be with then you need to come across as the same.
Now, let’s flip that around for a minute, let’s say you’re standing in the corner with a sour look on your face not smiling with your arms crossed, guess what kind of guys you’re going to attract? That’s right, jerks! You’re either going to attract those guys of the same mentality or even worse, those few idiots who’re likely to place bets with the boys to see who can make you smile.
The women who get approached more by decent guys are those who’re sending out awesome vibes. No matter what, you need to look like you’re having fun despite the fact that the music’s terrible and you’d much rather be at home in bed with 50 Shades of Gray.

#4 Don’t Be Too Easy!

Perhaps this is also where I was getting it wrong. Any guy who did show interest in me back in the day quickly disappeared when they discovered I was an eager beaver. I’m certainly not permitting you to go out and be a player and mess with guys’ heads because that’s not cool at all, what I am saying though is don’t be too easy.
We can put it down to the male ego thing; men love a little bit of a challenge – they want to feel like they’re wooing you and winning you over. So here you need to make it easier for them to come up to you by smiling and using the right body language and playing it cool when it comes to chatting, and for goodness sake don’t go rushing home with him immediately because it’s very unlikely he’s going to be there the next day!

#5 Let Him See You Looking

If you see a guy you think looks cute from a distance, don’t be afraid to momentarily lock eyes with him. The key here is to appear a little bashful. Make eye contact, avert your gaze downwards a little and smile at him. Now, don’t giving him a freaky grin that would rival Chucky’s, a small shy smile will suffice, but don’t forget it!

#6 Watch How You Dress

If you go out with everything hanging out leaving nothing to the imagination, you’re surely going to get guys to notice you and approach you – all the wrong ones who are only after one thing because you look like a s**t!
Wear something cute by all means, but do be a little bit more modest so guys will take you more seriously and you won’t attract those men who are only looking for s*x.

#7 Don’t Smoke And Get Drunk

friends in a disco having fun together
Now I really do sound like a prude, but I speak the honest truth here. Most men can’t stand it when a girl smokes, so if you can, avoid it! The same goes for getting drunk. Of course, I’m certainly not the girl who would ever advocate going out stone cold sober, but don’t get off your face drunk either because the only men who will ever approach a drunk girl are the men who only want s*x – a.k.a. the guys who aren’t going to stick around.

#8 Be Confident

I’ve said it a million times before: Men love confidence. To them, a woman with confidence is one of the s*xiest things ever. There’s definitely a very fine line between being confident and being aggressive and overbearing, but there’s a clear line between confidence and shyness.
If you come across as overly shy men won’t approach you for a number of reasons, but mainly because (a) they’ll think you’re not interested, and (b) they fear that you’re too shy to strike up a conversation. So let your inner goddess shine and attract those men by oozing confidence.

#9 Look Like You’re Having Fun

We’ve already mentioned smiling, but laughing also goes a long way. Make it look like you’re enjoying yourself. Smile and laugh with whoever you’re with and your positive energy will brush off on others.
Basically, I went about trying to get guys interested in me the wrong way. I put on too much makeup, wore overly short skirts and was shy… what an oxymoron that is!

Top 8 Things Women Worry About In Bed

No comments :

Physical appearance
Physical appearance
Feeling conscious about one’s body is one of the biggest problems that most of the women have. Disfigured body, small cup size, or oversize parts always make women feel insecure and uncomfortable. The very thought of getting uncovered gives them cold feet.
Bad climax
Bad climax
The feeling of not being able to perform in bed is another surmounting concern of women. It is not always possible to reach ultimate climax all the time. Factors like being too conscious about their bodies or other physical issues may be hampering their performance. So ladies, it is best to talk to your partner about them instead of feeling guilty about such things.
No protection
No protection
Some men do not like using protection during s*x. This is one thing, which worries many women. As the risk of catching s*xually transmitted diseases and infections are very high in that scenario. Second thing, which worries women in such cases, is an unplanned pregnancy.
Fear of getting pregnant
Fear of getting pregnant
Pre-marital s*x or teen pregnancies are on the rise. The risk of getting pregnant, when in an affair can always be irksome for women. Getting pregnant is one worry that mostly young or unmarried girls go to bed with.
Sex hurts!
S*x hurts!
Many women tremble about the pain, which they may experience during intercourse. However, it is important to recognise that it is only due to lack of lubricating fluids. Using good quality lubricating creams will not just eliminate the pain, but also your worries as well.
Not in the mood for it!
Not in the mood for it!
There are times when women feel they are not ready for s*x, or simply not in the mood. But to confront this truth to their partner makes them feel guilty. Being busy, stressed, ill, or tired are many reasons that stop you from wanting s*x, and withdrawing from it. Talking about such problems with your partner is the best way out.
Keeping lights on!
Keeping lights on!
Men are visual creatures. And, when they refuse to switch off lights, it is a cause of concern for many women. Excess body consciousness or the ability to imagine the process in broad light is still a shy matter for women. Hence, the insecurity often keeps them worried in bed.
Sex not great!
S*x not great!
Many women imagine s*x to be out and out romantic, straight from a Mills and Boons novel. But, when it actually happens, they are left disappointed. This is one feeling that stays and worries them everytime they get into the action.
Women worry about a lot of things in bed, but it is important to find solutions in order to enjoy s*x. So, try talking to your partner or to a medical practitioner to avail help.

Smart Ways to Flirt With Your Husband

No comments :

Few inviting words

Few inviting words
Wake up in the morning and greet him with a simple ‘good morning’ in a husky, sleepy voice. But don’t let out more of what you feel; just go on with your routine. Those few words on the morning will set the tone for the whole day. You can repeat this trick in the evening too, by just saying a casual “hello” in a soft, inviting voice. Another trick is to call him in the kitchen asking for some help, and say something flirtatiously, and just be casual about it. He will be enticed and surprised at your bold moves.
Grab him close
Grab him close
Softly, gently, and playfully, draw him close to say something. In case he is a workaholic or not too romantic, this gesture will certainly take him by surprise (pleasantly, we assure you!). This trick will work like magic if he is of the geeky kinds, who are inept at being playful or naughty.

Laugh
Laugh
Men love making their women laugh. In fact, they love it when you respond with a giggle or a hearty laugh at their jokes or if they say something smart. But be clever here. Don’t keep giggling away, as it will take away the fun behind the trick. Cleverly just laugh a little and start talking about something else. He will intently wait for some more, and make all effort to impress you further.
Soft talk
Soft talk
Don’t forget that he would not be interested in talking about work or household issues after coming home in the evening. Look and sound as refreshing as possible, and talk softly. Make sure you are all dressed-up and smell lovely. Begin your sentences very softly, so he will be drawn closer to you to listen up. But make sure you are whispering something “really good”; something that will be enticing enough. But don’t get too carried away! Remember, you are only playfully flirting to get his attention.
The kiss, your best friend!
The kiss, your best friend!
Sounds simple? Trust us, it isn’t! When you are looking to playfully attract his attention, you cannot just hold him and kiss him. Be more breezy and casual about it, but plan it smartly. When he least expects it, when he thinks you are busy doing something else, just walk to him and plant a gentle kiss, and continue with your work. You can even try this while having dinner; just bend over and kiss him! Need some help?

Look into the eyes
Look into the eyes
This tried and tested technique never fails. Simply look into his eyes whenever you get a chance to. Even if he is busy on the computer, watching TV or casually talking to you over dinner, just look at him naughtily and don’t say anything at all. The hint is enough!
Try these fun ways, and be prepared for a passionate new start to your marriage!

The 10 Reasons Why This Generation Is Losing The Ability To Be In Love

No comments :

Flickr

Ever wonder what our generation will be known for in the decades to come? I ponder the question regularly.
There are so many great things we could be remembered for, but if history has taught us anything, it’s the negative that tends to last the test of time, not the positive.
My greatest worry is our generation will be looked at as the generation that gave up on love. We date for the sake of dating. The generation that forgot how to love — which is ridiculous. Most people have never had a good understanding of love, just a poor interpretation of it.
Generation-Y seems to be the first generation moving away from conventional takes on romantic, loving relationships.
The only question that remains is whether we’ll be remembered for being the first generation to accept a more logical and rational take on love or the generation that gave up on it altogether.
I guess you’ll be the one to decide.

1. We care more about instant gratification than we do anything else.

The most common trend amongst Generation-Yers is our need for instant gratification. We grew up and continue to thrive in a culture that allows us instant access to just about anything.
If we want food, we have it delivered with the click of a few buttons or we walk a block or two and grab dinner. If we are bored, we have endless distractions in the form of phone apps. If we need directions or a question answered, it only takes us a couple of seconds.
Such convenience is entirely a modern-day perk — previous generations never experienced anything even remotely close to it.
The problem is instant gratification is addicting and often becomes a habit, a habit that tends to seep into our love lives.
Love isn’t meant to be experienced in an instance, but in a lifetime.

2. We’ve built a culture driven by drugs and booze.

This goes hand in hand with our culture’s need for instant gratification. Drugs and booze are the most common form of self-medication.
When we feel sad or unhappy, we go out for drinks. When we’re stressed or unable to handle our lives, we may turn to more intense substances. Of course, not everyone drinks alcohol and/or does drugs, but it is a trend among our generation.
Drugs and alcohol often end up being love’s worst enemy. These substances give us the illusion of an alternate reality — a reality in which our emotions are heightened, and the love we experience becomes exponentially intense.
Unfortunately, all this does is confuse us, making us believe love is little more than the feelings we experience. Nothing could be further from the truth.

3. We sleep around — a lot.

Some less than others, but most individuals have multiple partners every year. Don’t get me wrong, I like sex just as much as the next guy, but sleeping around ends up leaving us feeling empty.
It starts out feeling exciting and gratifying, but ends up making us feel even more alone. Worse yet, it makes finding someone to love infinitely more difficult. You’re wasting your time with people who mean nothing to you and, to top it all off, you are likely to turn sex into a sport.
When that becomes the case, good luck trying to make love. Good luck enjoying sex when sex is no longer a special or unique experience, but just another trivial evening.

4. We’re becoming even more egocentric.

Every individual in the world is egocentric; we all think about our needs and ourselves first and foremost. Whether this is good or bad doesn’t really matter; the world is the way it is. It’s part of human nature.
The problem arises when our egocentricity overtakes our ability to feel empathy. As human beings, we have no choice but to live and function within society, within communities of different sizes.
Relationships are really nothing more than granular communities. When we focus on only ourselves, our needs, our wants and desires, the needs of the others in our community get overlooked. When this happens in a relationship, it all begins to fall apart.

5. We date for the sake of dating.

It’s become a sport — a favorite pastime among Millennials. We date because we believe we’re supposed to date. We’re supposed to find someone to fall in love with and spend our lives with, and we are under the impression that the best way to go about it is to date as often as possible.
This backwards logic brings about countless horrible relationships that never ought to have been in the first place. Every time you date someone who isn’t right for you, you’re giving up your chance to meet someone who is. Same goes for the rest of the world.

6. We aren’t fans of making compromises.

We like to have things our way, always. Why wouldn’t we? If we can have it our way, why would we settle for anything less?
This logic makes sense until we find ourselves in a relationship. When we’re a part of a relationship, we are only a piece of a greater whole. What we want and need is not nearly as important as what the relationship needs.
And what the relationship often needs is for you to compromise. So you’re left with a dilemma, which is fine, as long as you accept that compromises need to be made. Once we no longer accept that as a necessity, we will lose the ability to create a loving relationship.

7. We believe in fairytale endings.

What was our favorite thing to watch growing up? Most people our age will say Disney. We grew up on Disney movies and learned all about love through the stories they told — or at least I did.
The problem is such movies are incredibly inaccurate and often end up doing more harm than good. They create impossible expectations — expectations that always leave us disappointed in the end, not to mention confused.
How could you not question your love for someone when your story doesn’t line up with what you believe defines a happily ever after?

8. We’ve been fooled into believing perfection is attainable.

It’s not. Never has been, never will be, and yet, we are all looking for that perfect individual. We are all looking to become that perfect individual. Sadly, we’re all going to fail, and it’s going to suck.
No matter how unrealistic our expectations are, the disappointment we feel when they aren’t achieved is very real.
The grass always seems greener on the other side. But who the hell told you to look for greener grass?

9. We’re goal driven, but often forget to include our partners in the mix.

I love the fact that our generation is really the first generation to put the focus on the individual, allowing for personal growth and development. I’m proud our generation is the first generation that believes working for ourselves is better than working for someone else.
Having dreams and setting goals are both incredibly important; however, what’s more important is setting the right goals. We need to understand the difference between the things and individuals in our life who hold value and those that do not.
Sadly, this is an area in which our generation is greatly lacking. Most of us put off finding someone to love until after we get the rest of our life together. Not sure why no one realizes finding a partner is the most important piece of the puzzle.

10. Most of us are really bad at loving.

Love is confusing. It has layers and is mutable, changing over time and changing with each new partner we let into our lives. Love is so incredibly complex that most people simply haven’t been able to get a grasp of it.
It’s nothing to be ashamed of, but it is reason to worry. The real question is: Are we getting better or worse at loving? That’s a question I’m not able to answer, but I fear it maybe the latter.
Of course, each individual is different in his or her understanding, but most people seem to be incredibly lost. The issue is if we don’t come to understand love better — its purpose, its boundaries and its shortcomings — we will never be happy.
That’s nothing short of fact.
